Human Resource Development Network has offered technical support to the rehabilitation workers in Tsunami-hit areas for capacity building and financial support. This was stated in the 36th Board of Directors meeting of HRDN that took place here. The offer is based on the reports stating that there is an acute shortage of experienced rescue workers for supporting rehabilitation work in different parts of Tsunami-hit areas and due to lack of experienced personnel, the pace of rehabilitation work has been slowed down.

HRDN Board has also appealed to all the members for raising funds to support the capacity building of rescue workers. In addition, the Board also appreciated the services of Higher Education Commission and in particular that of Dr Attaur Rehman in promoting a quality culture in the HEC that ultimately leads to generation of good quality human resources.

Quality education is a prerequisite for human resource development and the HEC has done a tremendous job in upgrading the skills of the Pakistani youth and enabled them to get better education services within the county and abroad.-PR
